In 2022, the Guru Purnima Mahotsav was celebrated at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Indian Culture (IGCIC) with immense reverence and cultural vibrancy. The event was graced by Padma Shri Balwant Thakur, a renowned cultural personality, as the Chief Guest, and we were honored by the presence of Dr Kailash Jagatpal, the Minister of Health and wellness, who also attended and addressed the gathering.
A significant highlight of the event was the launch of the Kabirpanthi Prayer Book by the Sadguru Kabir Federation, alongside the unveiling of their new website, Sadguru Kabir Federation.org. Additionally, a special presentation was given on Clemancia, the first Kabir Mandir in Mauritius, showcasing its cultural and spiritual importance. The occasion also included a heartfelt tribute, where we honoured all the Mahants of Kabirpanth in Mauritius for their contributions to the spiritual and cultural fabric of the community.
This celebration was also aligned with the national initiative of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, marking 75 years of India’s independence. Our organization proudly collaborated with IGCIC for this meaningful occasion, celebrating India’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage through music, dance, and reflections on the timeless guru-shishya tradition. The event proved to be a successful cultural program, leaving a lasting impact on all who attended.
