Guru Purnima Mahotsav 2023, Cultural Programme

In the sacred context of Guru Purnima Mahotsav, a special Cultural Program was organized by Sadguru Kabir Federation on 23rd July 2023 at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Indian Culture. The event brought together devotees and representatives of Kabirpanth from across Mauritius in a spirit of devotion, unity, and cultural celebration in honour of the teachings of Kabir Saheb.

The program was honoured by the presence of Kobita Jugnauth (Wife of Prime Minister- Pravin Jugnauth) , who attended as the Chief Guest, gracing the occasion and encouraging the promotion of culture and spiritual values in society.

During the event, the winners of the Sadguru Kabir Saheb Art and Painting Competition were proudly awarded for their creativity and efforts in expressing the spiritual message of Kabir Saheb through art. The competition aimed to inspire the younger generation to learn about and reflect on the teachings of the Satguru.

A special Award for the Senior Most Member was presented to Mahant Sookreetdass Saheb in recognition of his outstanding and lifelong contributions. He was honoured for his remarkable seva and dedication, including the donation of land for the Kabir Mandir in Grand-Bois, his generous donation of land to ISKCON in Grand-Bois, the publication of his spiritual books, and his devoted service and guidance as a Mahant. His contributions have greatly supported the growth and preservation of Kabir Panth and spiritual values in Mauritius.

The cultural program featured devotional performances, bhajans, and presentations by Kabir Panth representatives from across Mauritius, creating a vibrant atmosphere of devotion and gratitude towards the Guru. The event served as a beautiful reminder of the importance of the Guru in guiding humanity on the path of truth, knowledge, and righteousness.
