Who departed 14 years ago on the sacred day of Phalgun Purnam Vrat 🙏
Mahant 108 Ramchurrundass Rohee Saheb, the founder of the Kabirpanthi Mahasabha Mauritius, dedicated his entire life to spreading the divine teachings of Sadguru Kabir Saheb. On 11 November 1965, at the young age of 17, he was initiated by his revered Guru Mahant 108 Sahadev Dass Saheb. From that sacred moment until 7 March 2012, he faithfully served as the officiating Mahant at Mare D’Albert Kabir Dharmadass Bansawali Sabha and Grand Bois Sadguru Kabir Mandir. For some years, he also served as officiating Mahant at Kabir Mandir, Bonne Terre, Vacoas.
For 47 years, he carried the sacred responsibility of guiding the Kabirpanthi community as a devoted spiritual master. During his lifetime, he initiated thousands of disciples, nurturing values of devotion, duty, consciousness, love, respect, protection, care, faith, and service. He also trained Mahantees (priests) and, recognizing the importance of expanding the philosophy of Kabir Saheb, appointed six officiating Mahants to continue serving society.
Under his visionary leadership, the Kabirpanthi Mahasabha Mauritius was formally established to spread the teachings of Kabir Saheb. As a true servant of the Guru, he organized seminars, spiritual gatherings, and cultural programs at both national and international levels. His dream was to unite all Kabirpanthis, and he actively supported the creation of associations that would strengthen unity, harmony, and solidarity within the community.
Even though 14 years have passed since his departure, Mahant Saheb’s vision and blueprint for Kabirpanth in Mauritius continue to guide us. He did not merely build temples; he built a living community of faith. Every bhajan sung, every disciple guided, and every spiritual gathering organized today stands as a living testament to the strong foundation he laid.

• Encouraged the publication of books on the teachings of Kabir Saheb
• Initiated six officiating Mahants to serve society
• Prepared youth in bhajan singing and spiritual practices
• Organized national-level essay writing and bhajan singing competitions
• Served as a dedicated social worker, imparting sanskaar from one generation to the next
